February might be all about Valentine’s Day, but it’s also all about home improvement. This month there are several home improvement shows taking place in the Twin Cities including the MSP Home and Remodeling Show. The St Paul Home and Patio Show and the Home and Garden Show. All are fantastic places to start getting ideas for the projects you want to tackle this spring and summer when the weather is more accommodating.
Of course there are also plenty of things to do with your Valentine this time of year too. From ice skating to Ice Castles, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this month in the Twin Cities.

Fire & Ice: Winter Carnival Art Show

Vulcan Snow Park Snow Sculpture Viewing

Visitors are encouraged to come out to Vulcan Snow Park to watch sculptors at work during the first weekend. Finished sculptures are lit after dark and remain on display for the duration of Vulcan Snow Park—or until they collapse. (Sculptures are knocked down if they’re growing dangerously unstable, or may collapse on their own, so plan to visit them early!)
Doggie Depot

On Saturday, February 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Union Depot with the help of Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota will become Doggie Depot and be the bark of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. Join Union Depot, Sidewalk Dog Media, myTalk 107.1 – Minneapolis/St. Paul, and KS95 – St. Paul / Minneapolis for the doggie event of the year at Union Depot. Representatives from Sidewalk Dog Media will be on hand to share tips with guests about the Twin Cities’ most pet-friendly restaurants, retailers and more. Doggie Depot is free and open to the public and guests are encouraged to bring their dogs to Union Depot for this special event.
Destination Winter Saint Paul
