This is the time of year when most of us would be outside enjoying all the festivals, concerts, and other wonderful outdoor culture that the Twin Cities is famous for. Sadly, most of these events have been canceled due to the coronavirus. While some places have begun to reopen – retail shops, hair salons, and restaurants – all with considerable limitations, events that draw large crowds are canceled. The Minnesota State Fair has been canceled as have concerts, Pride, and all the art festivals we love during the summer months. While some are hoping to reschedule later in the summer, for now we just don’t know when or if they will happen.

One of the events that has not been canceled is the Parade of Homes. For a few weeks the tour was a virtual tour (and still is for those who prefer that method)  but now it is officially back on. Of course there are restrictions and masks are recommended.

While we are still practicing self distancing, there are several things we can do – gatherings of 10 or less is the recommendation. Neighborhood gatherings, hiking, biking, and road trips with family are great ways to spend some time out of the house.

There are plenty of online things to do, which admittedly isn’t much fun when the weather is warm and the sun is shining, but if so inclined there is an extensive list of online things to do here.
