History of Oakdale, MN
The Township of Oakdale was first organized in November of 1858 and was intact until 1926 when Lake Elmo village decided to leave it. In the 1950s, the township lost some property when East Oakdale detached in 1951. Later on Pine Springs and Landfall were both incorporated in 1950 and another section became Northdale resulting in more loss of acreage. In 1968, some areas were recovered when East Oakdale and Northdale decided to rejoin. In 1974, Oakdale officially became a city.

Place is always packed but servers go out of their way to take your order and serve you. The only place to find authentic tacos in the east side of town.
D-Spot Restaurant – most folks attest that D-Spot restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in Minnesota. If you like chicken wings then this is the place to get them. There are many sauces available but be sure to try the Black Widow sauce. The burgers are quite excellent as well.
Five Guys Burger & Fries Restaurant – if you are looking for a good old-fashioned burger and fries place then Five Guys is your place without a doubt. Once you enter you will be greeted with peanuts and lots of them. All their burgers are made to order and there is a veggie burger for those that do not prefer to eat red meat.

Oakdale Indoor Market – already in their 5th year the Oakdale Indoor Market features lots of exciting products grown locally of course. Check out a wide selection of veggies, honey, baked items, chocolates, frozen strudel and many more.
Oak Marsh Golf Course – Come and enjoy a round of golf at the famous Oak Marsh Golf Course. This 18-hole course offers 31 bunkers and has an excellent practice facility and golf programs. If you plan to get married, the clubhouse and banquet facilities are capable of seating up to 300 people.
Snowshoeing – Oakdale regularly hosts snowshoeing through it many beautiful trails. There are even special events like Family Moonlight Snowshoe, which is done at night by the light of the silvery moon.
