Summer is coming to an end but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still time to get out and take part in many of the events in the Twin Cities this August. From the Uptown Art Fair to the Renaissance Festival to the Minnesota State Fair, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as the final weeks of summer take place. It won’t be too long before the chill of fall is in the air so be sure to get out and enjoy these last warm days of the year.

Events in the Twin Cities this August

Uptown Art Fair

When: August 5th – 7th, 2016
Where: Uptown Minneapolis
Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue

Come out and enjoy the 53rd Annual Uptown Art Fair, featuring over 350 artists, fine food and beverages from over 20 vendors, family activities, an outdoor performance stage, outdoor wine and beer gardens, a youth art fair and culinary arts competition.

Internet Cat Video Festival
When: August 9th, 2016
Where: CHS Field
360 Broadway Street, St. Paul

The Twin Cities experienced its first cat video festival in 2012 and became an international hit. It is in that spirit that the Cat Video Festival returns on August 9th 2016 at 6pm at CHS Field. Tickets are on sale now.

Last year over 13,000 cat lovers attended the festival. This year’s Cat Video Festival will benefit Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN.

Countless hours will be spent to bring The Cat Video Festival back home to the Twin Cities.

Irish Fair of Minnesota
When: August 12th – 14th, 2016
Where: Harriet Island

The Irish Fair of Minnesota will take place Friday, August 12 – Sunday, August 14, 2016. The unique once a year celebration offers attendees an opportunity to celebrate authentic Irish heritage through a multitude of activities such as: step dance, traditional group dance, gaelic sports, Celtic marketplace, cultural displays, native Irish dogs, traditional tea room, Irish food and drink as well as several local and international bands.

Summer Beer Dabbler
When: August 15th, 2016 | 5 – 9pm

Enjoy live music, compete in the Summer Beer Dabbler Homebrew Contest, dance in the Silent Disco, and stick around a fireworks show to end with a bang.

Minnesota Renaissance Festival
When: August 20th – October 2nd, 2016 (weekends)

Shakopee, MN

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is celebrating its 46th Season!

Minnesota State Fair
When: August 25th – September 5th
Where: MN State Fair Grounds

The Minnesota State Fair is one of the largest and best-attended expositions in the world, attracting nearly 1.8 million visitors annually. Showcasing Minnesota’s finest agriculture, art and industry, the Great Minnesota Get-Together is always 12 Days of Fun Ending Labor Day. The 2016 Minnesota State Fair runs Aug. 25-Labor Day, Sept. 5.
