June is all about getting out and enjoying the beautiful weather we so deserve. It’s no secret that this winter and spring in Minnesota has been a bit brutal, and it looks like summer might fall on a few weekends this year so get out and enjoy! June is a busy month in the Twin Cities and there’s an event for everyone. From Minnesota Cider Festival to Manitou Days to the Strawberry Festival in Afton, there’s no reason not to get out and enjoy this short-lived season.

Minnesota Cider Festival

Join the Minnesota Cider Guild for the 2019 Minnesota Cider Festival, the region’s premier cider sampling event.

This outdoor festival will feature unlimited samples from around 100 local, national and international cideries. Guests will also enjoy food for purchase from Spring Café and Red River Kitchen all while taking in views of beautiful Como Lake from Como Lakeside Pavilion.

St. Paul Summer Beer Fest

St. Paul’s favorite beer festival dedicated to craft beers! St. Paul Summer Beer Fest will take place Saturday, June 8th, 2019 from 2-5pm (early admission at 1pm) at the MN State Fairgrounds – International Bazaar in beautiful St. Paul.

This outdoor craft beer festival will feature sampling from over 100 breweries in a commemorative tasting glass, live music, tasty food, educational seminars, a silent auction benefiting the YMCA of St. Paul, and the fun atmosphere of MN State Fairgrounds.

Stillwater Farmer’s Market

Saturday Mornings! Located at 3rd & Pine Street, Riverview Parking Lot of the Stillwater Veterans Memorial, across from the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater. Food Truck Extravaganza

Manitou Days
When: June 13 – July 4, 2019
Where: White Bear Lake
White Bear Lake, MN

Come to beautiful White Bear Lake to celebrate Manitou Days, a three-week summer festival showcasing some of the greatest things about this lakeside community.  For 53 years this annual summer ritual has been a favorite of locals and visitors.

The fun kicks-off with Marketfest and ends on the Fourth of July with a spectacular fireworks display to music over the lake. The Medallion Hunt, a local favorite, offers a $1,000 prize and bragging rights. One of our festival highlights is the Grand Parade, which travels through the scenic downtown and along Lake Avenue, ending at Memorial Beach where High Brow and the Shades will perform at the Beach Dance following the parade.

Ride your bike. Build a sand castle. Enter a fishing contest. Go for a pontoon ride. Shop Downtown White Bear Lake. Do yoga on the beach. Hunt for a medallion. Dance under the stars. Watch fireworks on the beach. With more than 75 events, there is something for everyone!

Marketfest

Each year Marketfest attracts locals and visitors who are interested in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
More than 160 local businesses and vendors offer a wide variety of food, merchandise, art, and handcrafted goods. And there are numerous activities for children including a petting zoo and games.
Each week there is live music on two stages: the Kowalski’s Gazebo Stage at 4th and Washington Square or the White Bear Mitsubishi 3rd street stage, in the parking lot at 3rd and Banning.
Stroll through the downtown streets visiting local merchants and artists. Relax and enjoy a summer evening with family and friends.

2019 Special Olympics Summer Games
When: June 21 – 23, 2019
Where: University of St. Thomas
St. Paul, MN

pecial Olympics Minnesota athletes have been preparing for Summer Games for months, and it’s finally time to show off their skills. Over the course of three days they’ll compete in sports like track & field, gymnastics, basketball and swimming. They’ll hang out with family and friends, participate in Healthy Athletes, dance the night away after Celebration Ceremonies — and win some shiny medals!
Summer Games is FREE and open to the public!

Twin Cities Jazz Festival
When: June 20 – 22, 2019
Where: Lowertown
St. Paul, MN

The festival is located in and around Mears Park in the Lowertown neighborhood of  downtown Saint Paul.  There are two outdoor stages at Mears Park and one outdoor stage at the the Saint Paul Union Depot.  In addition, over 15 St. Paul venues have jazz programed all three days as well as music after the outdoor stages end.  The Jazz Fest is a walking event.  Most of the stages and venues are within walking distance and ALL performances are free and open to the public.  You can come and go as you please.  Check the schedule page for the complete lineup.

For 2019, the Union Depot Stage is dedicated to Larry Englund who created youth engagement for the Twin Cities Jazz Fest. Over 100 youth will perform at the Larry Englund Depot Stage.

The 2019 Twin Cities Jazz Fest, presented by AARP, will be held June 20-22.   June 20th is in partnership with Lowertown Sounds.   Please check the schedule page for the complete lineup.

Twin Cities Pride

The Twin Cities Pride Festival is a CELEBRATION of the LGBTQ+ Community. We welcome exhibitors who support our community to participate in this event. We plan to have 400 exhibitor booths, 40 food vendors, and 4 free stages with music and other performances!  All LGBTQ+ people and allies are welcome!

Afton Strawberry Festival

The Afton Strawberry Festival will be celebrated in the historic village of Afton, MN, which is located along the scenic St. Croix River. The 2019 Afton Strawberry Festival will take place on Saturday, June 22nd from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, June 23rd from 11am to 4pm.

This unique community festival honors the long, rich heritage of strawberry crops grown in the area since the 1800’s. This free, two-day outdoor festival will feature a blend of 80+ artist vendors showcasing and selling their goods, vintage and 2nd-hand vendors selling repurposed or vintage treasures and a business expo. Great food, live music and fun activities for the entire family in Afton Town Square Park.
