A food writer, librarian and historian, Becky Libourel Diamond has had a varied career combining writing and research. Her latest book, The Gilded Age Cookbook, was published by Globe Pequot in August 2023.
The Gilded Age Cookbook transports the reader back in time to lavish banquet tables set with linen tablecloths, delicate china, and sparkling crystal glasses. Cuisine featuring rich soups, juicy roasts, and luscious desserts will come to life through her presentation of historic images, artistic photography, and entertaining stories of celebrities from the era—the Vanderbilts, Astors, Goelets, and Rockefellers.
A small sampling of treats from the book will be provided by the author and signed copies of The Gilded Age Cookbook will be available for purchase.

You and three of your closest friends, family or co-workers can dress in fun costumes and race down Buck Hill on a real queen-sized mattress, provided by Bridging! When you register your fundraising team for this outdoor winter event, not only will you have a blast, you will also help local families and individuals in need. Since 1999, this annual winter event has raised nearly $2 million dollars over the years to support Bridging’s mission!
Registration is free, and once your team of four raises the minimum fundraising amount ($400 per team) you’ll be invited to participate in this year’s Bedrace.

Needlefelted Easter Eggs – Painting with Wool

“Egg-cited” for springtime? This needlefelting class is a great way to celebrate spring by creating decorative felted Easter Eggs. We’ll start with a rigid foam egg base, which we’ll cover in colorful wool from the instructor’s flock of sheep. Laura will then show you a variety of techniques for decorating your eggs with adorable little birds or animals and different types of springtime flowers.
Bring your creative imagination, and enjoy seasonal egg decorating in a whole new medium. Ahead of class, Laura will mail you a kit, which includes all the supplies you need for the class, including foam work surface, felting needles, and plenty of colorful wool. The kit includes enough materials to make two decorative eggs.

The Osman Shrine Circus has been delighting audiences in Minnesota for 100 years this year, making this the 99th St. Paul Osman Shrine Circus (minus 1 from COVID-19). Osman Shrine Circus was established in 1923 and is proud to have been part of the Twin Cities community since then; still going strong.
The Osman Shrine Circus is a Minnesota tradition that brings joy and excitement to thousands of families every year. Adored by kids and adults alike, our performance includes acrobatics, aerialists, clowns, horses, elephants, camels, dogs, cats, and more, who perform amazing acts and skills. They love sharing their talents with you—the fans that come to the Osman Shrine Circus each year!
