Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have the opportunity to shop at your local farmers market. The Mill City Museum will be hosting an indoor market every second saturday from now until April.
Ice CastlesWhen: January 3rd through February 27th Where: 17979 East Miller Parkway, Eden Prairie, MN 55347 One of the most unique and amazing facts about these Ice Castles is that they are literally built by hand. The builders of these ice castles grow more than 5,000 icicles each day that they then harvest and sculpt together.

Lake Harriet Winter Kite FestivalWhen: January 17th noon – 4pm Where: Lake Harriet 4135 West Lake Harriet Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55409
The Lake Harriet Winter Kite Festival features kite flying as well as ice fishing! The 2015 Kite festival will be the 13th annual festival and will include kites of all shapes, sizes, colors and themes. Experts will be on hand to demonstrate kite maneuvering skills and be available to offer their expertise to all kite flying enthusiasts. If you don’t have your own kite you can buy an inexpensive one at the festival.
Admission is FREE.
Tips Outdoors will teach kids ice fishing skills and safety tips. Equipment and permits for children will be provided.
