The rain has finally stopped so get out and enjoy all the great Twin Cities events this May. From Mother’s Day to Cinco de Mayo there’s something for everyone this month. If you’re looking for great food while learning about different cultures then head over to St. Paul for the Festival of Nations. Twin Cities Events this May
42nd Annual MayDay Parade
When: May 1st, 2016
Where: Powderhorn Park, Minneapolis
For many in Minnesota, the MayDay Parade is a time to celebrate the coming warmth with hand-built puppets and masks (some over 10 feet tall), music, and performance in the street., But the essence of the parade is rooted in the local community and contemporary issues, concerns, and visions for a better world. Throughout the month, everyone is invited to the 16 public workshops, and all who enter participate in the building of this communal story through the creation of puppets and masks. By the time the parade unfolds on the first Sunday of May, more than 50,000 people from near and far fill the streets both as participants and spectators for this day of celebration and community.

Cinco De Mayo

Saint Paul’s Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, in District del Sol, features a parade, 5k Race, Community Village, food, live music and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy. Metro Transit is once again sponsoring FREE RIDES to the Cinco de Mayo Festival! Rides are available on May 7th from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. when you use the downloadable pass, valid on Metro Transit buses and light rails.
